Consignment Specialist (UK)
Want to make money doing what you love? We’re looking for a Consignment Specialist who really knows their classic cars.
Fully remote. £30,000 base + 10% of our commission on every car of yours that sells. 25 days' holiday + 5 extra days off at Christmas + bank holidays.
What you'll actually do
- Take your share of inbound enquiries from owners who have already found us and want to know what their car is worth.
- Go and find the rest yourself, from adverts, through clubs, specialists, dealers, and collectors.
- Value cars honestly and talk owners through a sensible reserve, including when the honest answer is lower than they hoped.
- Own the whole process from first conversation to the point the listing goes into production. You don’t need to handle production or post-auction sales, though there’s room to expand if you’d enjoy that.
- Occasionally (very rarely) go out to see a significant car or attend an industry event.
What we need from you
- Deep classic car knowledge. You know why one 911 might be worth twice another that looks the same, and you can hold a credible valuation conversation with someone who has owned their car for thirty years. We can teach a lot of things, but we can't teach this quickly.
- The ability to manage your own time. You'll be at home with nobody watching. That has to work for you, not against you.
- Confidence on the phone, to make a lot of calls. This is a talking job. If you'd rather email, it isn't for you.
- Friendly and honest. We're helpful, not aggressive. Nobody here uses pressure, false deadlines, or inflated valuations to win a car. Not only are our review scores vital to our business, doing the right thing is vital to us as people. We will not trade integrity for a consignment.
- Adaptability. We're growing and changing. Some of how we work today will be different in six months, and you can help to drive that if you want, or just have a say where it impacts you if you don't.
- Sound admin. Notes kept up to date, next steps clear, nothing dropped. In a small team there is nobody behind you to catch it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll need full UK working rights.
What you get
- £30,000 base plus 10% of the commission we earn on every car you bring in that sells.
- We will underwrite a level of commission for your first 2 months while you get your feet under the table.
- Our seller commission is 6% net, so a £30,000 car earns you £180, and a £100,000 car earns you £600. Sell ten cars a month and you're earning in the low fifties. Sell more, or sell better cars, and you earn more.
- Fully remote, anywhere in the UK.
- Flexible working. The right person will optimise their time around when they can best reach and convert clients.
- 25 days' holiday + 5 extra days off at Christmas + bank holidays.
- A small team where your work is visible and your opinion counts.

About us
Trade Classics is a UK classic car auction platform. We hold a 4.9* Trustpilot rating - the highest in our industry - and we've earned it by being open and honest with people.
The old way of selling a classic is a mess. Classifieds are full of hopeful asking prices and tyre-kickers, and cars sit unsold for a year. Trade-ins are a lowball. Traditional auction houses take up to a quarter of the sale price and only reach the people who can get to the room on the day. We charge a flat 6% + VAT, we photograph and document a car properly, and we put it in front of buyers who actually turn up and bid.
We're a small team, we're growing, and whoever fills this role will be an important part of that growth.
To apply
Send us a CV and tell us about a classic car you'd buy tomorrow if the money appeared - and what you'd pay for it. Be specific, and please don’t spend much time on it. We'd rather read three honest paragraphs from you than three polished pages from an AI.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
