Job Purpose
This role is primarily accounts-focused, supporting the financial administration of our construction projects, with some general administrative duties as required. The role will work closely with and supporting the Construction Team and Accounts Department to ensure accurate financial records, cost tracking, and compliance.
Main Responsibilities
- Collate delivery notes and reconcile Supplier and Subcontractor invoices.
- Accurately process sales invoices, purchase invoices, subcontractor invoices using Construction Management Software System, Live Costs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project cost records to support budget monitoring and reporting.
- Accurately process timesheets using Bright HR Blip.
- Provide accurate financial reports as required.
- Liaise with Suppliers, Subcontractors, and internal team members to resolve invoice and payment queries promptly and professionally.
- Provide general administrative support to the construction and finance teams as required.

Planning & Organising
- Prioritise invoice processing and requesting subcontractor payments in line with project deadlines and agreed payment terms.
- Ensure accurate allocation of costs to the correct development site and budget heading.
- Maintain clear and structured project documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems efficiency.
- Producing and maintaining respective filing systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Expertise Required
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance-focused role within the Residential Construction Industry (essential).
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade A–C or equivalent (essential).
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (essential).
- Good working knowledge of VAT within the construction sector, including reverse charge VAT (essential).
- An understanding of CIS regulations and retention processes (essential).
- Excellent attention to detail and high levels of accuracy (essential).
- Proven experience using Construction Management Software, Live Costs.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Confident communicator with professional telephone and email manner.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- A proactive, flexible approach and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
