Construction Industry Growth Partner

Freelance | Flexible | UK Construction

Plan889 is a growing construction planning and project controls consultancy with ambitious plans for the next stage of its development.

Our founder and team are heavily focused on supporting existing clients and delivering current projects. We are therefore looking for an experienced industry professional who can help maintain momentum on the business development side and open the right doors as we grow.

This isn't a traditional sales role. No scripts. No hard selling.

We are looking for someone with an established construction network, strong credibility, and a good reputation. Someone who knows the right people — and whose calls they will take.

You may be a current or former Construction Director, Commercial Director, Managing Director, or senior Business Development professional. Equally, you may now work independently, hold a portfolio of roles, or be semi-retired. The title matters less than the network and credibility you bring.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What we're looking for

We want someone who can create genuine introductions and conversations with:

  • Main contractors.
  • Developers.
  • Project managers and consultants.
  • Senior commercial and operational decision-makers.

We would rather have five strong introductions than fifty weak leads.

Plan889 provides tender, pre-construction, and construction-stage planning and project controls support across the UK.

We are building the business carefully and want to develop more long-term client relationships alongside our existing workload.

The arrangement

Freelance. Flexible. Light-touch.

We envisage an initial retainer of approximately £500 per month.

We are not prescribing hours or a rigid working pattern. Instead, we would like to hear how you would approach the role and what you believe you could realistically deliver.

This is not a commission-led sales position. We do not pay an ongoing percentage of fees or revenue generated from introduced clients.

The ideal person may already have a successful career, consultancy, or portfolio of interests — and may not be actively looking for work at all.

If you know the UK construction market, have a strong network, and like the idea of helping an ambitious specialist consultancy grow, we would be interested in talking.

No lengthy application is required.

Tell us briefly about your background, the part of the industry you know best, and how you think you could help.
