Andrew Strain Construction Ltd is a leading civil engineering, groundworks and infrastructure contractor delivering high-quality projects throughout Scotland. Due to continued growth across our infrastructure portfolio, we are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee the successful delivery of multiple projects within the energy, water, civil engineering and infrastructure sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a proven track record of managing contracts from pre-construction through to successful completion.
The Role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Contracts Manager will be responsible for the operational, commercial and contractual management of multiple projects, ensuring they are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage multiple contracts and project teams across Scotland.
- Lead project delivery from award through to completion.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, specifications and client requirements.
- Monitor programme performance, resource allocation and project profitability.
- Support project planning, procurement and risk management activities.
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
- Drive a positive health, safety, environmental and quality culture across all projects.
- Oversee commercial performance in conjunction with Quantity Surveyors and Commercial Managers.
- Identify opportunities for operational improvement and business growth.
- Produce regular progress reports and attend client meetings.

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Proven experience as a Contracts Manager, Senior Project Manager or similar role within civil engineering, utilities or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong understanding of contract administration and project delivery.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects and site teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness and financial management capability.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

Preferred
- Experience delivering projects within the energy, power, water sectors.
- Understanding of Scottish Water, SSE, SP Energy Networks frameworks.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
- SMSTS and CSCS qualifications.
