Contract Manager - Devon and Cornwall

DMS Drywall Systems Ltd is looking for an experienced Contracts Manager to oversee and coordinate our projects across Devon and Cornwall.

DMS delivers a range of specialist construction packages, including SFS, drylining, ceilings, acoustic systems and passive fire protection. We need someone who can manage projects from handover through to completion, build strong relationships with our clients and keep our teams organised, safe and commercially on track.

The Role

You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of multiple contracts, including:

• Managing projects from tender handover and pre-start through to practical completion and final account.
• Coordinating our work in SFS, internal partitions, plasterboard linings and shaft wall systems etc.
• Managing suspended ceilings, acoustic ceilings and acoustic wall panels.
• Coordinating plastering, taping and jointing, and passive fire protection works, including fire-rated partitions and structural steel encasements.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes and programmes, and identifying gaps, conflicts or changes that need to be resolved.
• Coordinating design, technical information, samples, approvals and installation details with clients, consultants, suppliers and our internal team.
• Planning labour, materials, plant, access and deliveries to meet project programmes.
• Managing site supervisors, operatives and subcontractors, making sure responsibilities and priorities are clear.
• Monitoring progress through regular site visits, progress meetings and programme reviews.
• Managing health and safety requirements, RAMS, quality plans, inspections, records and handover information.
• Checking that work is delivered to the required specification and that any defects or non-conformances are dealt with promptly.
• Managing costs, budgets, valuations, variations, dayworks, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Identifying delays, access restrictions and other risks early, keeping clear records and agreeing practical solutions with the project team.
• Building and maintaining good working relationships with clients, main contractors, suppliers and DMS colleagues.
• Providing clear progress and commercial updates to DMS management.
