About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Construction Director to lead the strategic and operational delivery of a portfolio of complex energy infrastructure projects across the UK.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing projects from design and construction through to commissioning and handover. The successful candidate will have full accountability for project performance across safety, programme, quality, commercial outcomes, profitability, and client satisfaction.
The role will lead multidisciplinary teams including Contract Managers, Project Managers, engineering specialists, and site-based delivery teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with contractual commitments.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the successful delivery of major engineering and infrastructure projects from development through to completion.
- Maintain accountability for project financial performance, forecasting, budgets, and profit margins.
- Oversee programme delivery, risk management, quality assurance, and safety performance.
- Drive compliance with industry regulations, health and safety standards, and construction best practice.
- Manage subcontractor and supply chain performance.
- Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships.
- Provide senior technical leadership across civil and electrical engineering disciplines.
- Develop high-performing teams through effective leadership, coaching, and succession planning.
- Support business growth through collaboration with commercial and pre-construction teams.
- Identify and implement operational improvements, innovation, and efficiencies across project delivery.
Requirements
Essential Experience
- Significant experience delivering high-voltage electrical infrastructure and utility projects within the UK.
- Proven track record leading multidisciplinary teams on large-scale, complex engineering or construction projects.
- Strong construction and project delivery background with responsibility for safety, commercial performance, and programme management.
- Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, contractual obligations, and P&L responsibility.
- Strong understanding of industry-standard contracts including NEC, JCT and/or FIDIC.
- Demonstrable experience in risk identification, mitigation, and project governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management and client-facing skills.

Qualifications
- HNC, HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
