An excellent opportunity for a Construction Estimator/Tender Manager to join a well-established company based in Romford, Essex.
The Company:
Structural Membranes Specialists provide basement to roof waterproofing solutions, specialising in spray applied liquid waterproofing systems, basement tanking and cavity drainage. With over 30 years’ experience working across all areas of the construction industry.
SMS are now looking to recruit a Construction Estimator/Tender manager to join their team.
About the Role:
- Undertake take-offs from drawing packs provided by our clients.
- Undertake the preparation of tenders and bid proposals allocated by our business development team for presentation to our directors.
- Provide all information necessary for inclusion within the written bid submission.
- Liaise with the Operations Managers to ensure all necessary information is provided for the contracts team once site works begin.
- Attend pre-contract handover meetings, all necessary bid meetings and client meetings as requested throughout the tender process.
- Chase tenders and request feedback from clients.
- Provide long term tender progress reports to our directors
- Control of our online tender management system

Candidate Requirements:
- Produce the commercial pack for sub-contractor tender submissions.
- Experience of pricing NEC/JCT contracts preferable.
- Understanding of various forms of Procurement Process.
- Knowledge of system estimating software.
- Preparation of notes and clarifications for tender submissions.
- Demonstrate ability in the pricing of tender Preliminaries.
- Ability to self-manage the administration and electronic filing of tender paperwork.

This is a full-time position 9am - 5pm but flexible working and working from home would be considered for the right candidate and in return the company is offering a Competitive Salary of around £30,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
