An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Director, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Financial Controller or Head of Finance with a strong Construction sector background to join a rapidly growing specialist Accountancy Group.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your commercial and financial leadership experience within a specialist practice environment, working alongside a portfolio of Construction businesses whilst helping shape the future of a growing firm.
For the right individual, this role offers a genuine Route to Partnership, future equity opportunities and the chance to become a key member of the firm's senior leadership team.
This is a fully remote role, offering an excellent work-life balance with occasional travel for client meetings and leadership events where required.
The Role
Working closely with the Directors, you'll become the firm's Construction sector specialist, providing strategic financial advice to a portfolio of Construction businesses whilst leading and developing a growing team.
You'll oversee complex client relationships, support owner-managed businesses, review technical work and help drive the continued growth of the practice. You'll also manage a team consisting of UK and offshore professionals, ensuring work is delivered to the highest professional standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of Construction sector clients.
- Act as the firm's Construction finance specialist and trusted adviser.
- Lead, mentor and develop UK and offshore team members.
- Review statutory accounts, management accounts and financial reporting.
- Advise clients on commercial performance, profitability and business growth.
- Oversee Corporation Tax, VAT, CIS and financial compliance.
- Build strong long-term relationships with business owners and directors.
- Support business development and strategic growth initiatives.
- Help shape the future direction of a growing specialist Accountancy Group.
Requirements
We're looking for someone who has:
- FCA or FCCA Qualified.
- At least 10 years' experience within the Construction sector.
- Previous experience working as a:
- Finance Director
- Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
- Financial Controller
- Head of Finance
- Group Financial Controller
- Experience working within Construction businesses is essential. Examples may include:

- Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
- Previous leadership and people management experience.
- Excellent technical knowledge including:
- Construction Industry Scheme (CIS)
- Construction VAT
- FRS 102
- Corporation Tax
- Financial Reporting
- Cashflow Forecasting
- Budgeting
- Forecasting
- Management Accounts
- Business Strategy
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A genuine ambition to help grow a specialist firm and progress towards Partnership.
