The role
As Construction & Fire Safety Business Partner, you'll play a key role in supporting the delivery of the airport's fire safety strategy while helping ensure we meet our statutory responsibilities. You'll provide expert guidance and practical support on fire safety compliance, while ensuring construction and maintenance projects across the airport estate are delivered in line with CDM Regulations, relevant British Standards and MAG Technical Asset Standards.
Working closely with the Head of Health, Safety & Fire Safety and the Fire Safety Manager, you'll help our Responsible Persons and Duty Holders meet their legal obligations, monitoring compliance, identifying risks and escalating issues where required to support safe, compliant operations across the airport.

What will make you successful in this role
Essential
- NEBOSH Fire Certificate, NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent qualification in fire safety or construction health and safety.
- Practical experience in a fire safety, construction safety
- Working knowledge of fire safety legislation and CDM Regulations.
- Ability to conduct structured safety inspections and produce clear, actionable written reports.
- Competent in maintaining accurate records and managing documentation to audit standard.
- Confident communicator; able to give clear safety guidance to contractors and operational staff and hold a firm position when standards are not being met.
Desirable
- Experience in an airport, aviation, or large public infrastructure environment.
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards applicable to fire protection systems and construction works (e.g. BS 5839, BS 5306, BS 9999).
- Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. IFE, IOSH).
- Experience operating within a permit-to-work system.
