Role Purpose and Key Responsibilities

RICS is seeking a credible and experienced Senior Specialist in Construction & Infrastructure Management to join our senior specialist team and help shape the technical integrity of the surveying profession on a global scale. In this influential role, you will help shape the future of the profession by developing practical, high-quality guidance across core areas including construction project management, quantity surveying, and the application of AI, data and technology in the built environment.

You’ll lead on sector insight and member engagement, managing working groups and contributing to standards that support our global professional community. With regular speaking engagements, collaboration across internal teams, and responsibility for translating complex developments into accessible guidance, your work will directly support professional excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of guidance and standards across construction and infrastructure
  • Provide insight on emerging themes including technology, data, and innovation in surveying
  • Represent RICS externally — chairing groups, speaking at conferences, and supporting industry initiatives
  • Manage and contribute to working groups, collaborating with sector experts and stakeholders
  • Translate complex regulatory, policy and market information into clear, member-focused outputs

About You

You are an experienced professional with a strong track record in construction, infrastructure, or surveying leadership. Confident in both technical interpretation and public engagement, you are a collaborative communicator who can balance influence, credibility, and delivery.

You will bring:

  • Deep sector knowledge of construction and infrastructure, including regulatory and technical matters
  • Understanding of digital transformation within the built environment (e.g. AI, data, modern methods)
  • Experience managing external groups or initiatives within industry, public sector, or professional bodies
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including presenting to member and public audiences
  • A collaborative, organised approach to project management and stakeholder engagement
