Your new role

A Senior Legal Counsel position focusing largely on non-contentious construction and projects matters. Working three days per week in the Central London office, you will work within the compact but highly respected in-house legal function of c. seven lawyers, as a trusted legal business partner for various industry verticals, including transport and utilities. You will negotiate and review a broad range of construction and commercial agreements, including NEC3/4, framework, supplier and subcontractor agreements. In a broad role, you will advise on any project-related matter, spanning disputes analysis, procurement, IP and legal compliance matters, managing stakeholders at all levels in the process. Internally, you will support the constant improvement of the internal legal infrastructure, in terms of policies, playbooks and templates, while providing training and mentoring to legal and non-legal colleagues as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an England & Wales qualified construction/projects lawyer with strong non-contentious and advisory experience, including in relation to NEC3/4 and general construction and commercial matters. In-house experience (even through secondments) will be highly valued. You will be commercially minded and solution-driven, with the ability to influence stakeholders and simplify complex legal situations. Guidance PQE is 5+; however, the organisation is happy to interview candidates with less experience if they have the relevant exposure. Candidates will need to showcase they are personal, quick learners, who will thrive in a broad role. Candidates must have the unrestricted right to work in the UK, as the business is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
