Construction Manager (Project Manager Civils Package)

Location: Cumbria

About The Role

We are looking for an experienced and driven Construction Manager to lead the delivery of construction operations for the Civils Package across projects and/or a defined geographical area.

In this role, you will take ownership of project performance, overseeing safety, quality, cost, and programme delivery for the civils elements. You will manage teams of supervisors, direct labour, and subcontractors, ensuring that all work is carried out to the highest standards.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident leader with strong operational and commercial awareness to make a real impact on project success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of construction operations within your area or project
  • Ensure delivery of projects in line with safety, quality, cost, and programme targets
  • Plan works and establish procedures to ensure milestones and deadlines are achieved
  • Effectively manage and coordinate labour, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Drive a culture of safety, quality, and “right first time” delivery
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, procedures, and legislative requirements
  • Monitor and manage project performance, including audits, reporting, and reviews
  • Deliver projects within agreed timescales and budgets
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisory staff and site teams
  • Build strong working relationships across teams, clients, and stakeholders
  • Promote continuous improvement and operational excellence

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant construction or engineering discipline
  • Previous experience of Concrete framed structures installation
  • Chartered or working towards chartership (e.g. CIOB, ICE)
  • Proven experience managing construction projects or operational teams (Civils Biased)
  • Strong knowledge of construction practices, standards, and legislation
  • Sound commercial, contractual, and risk management understanding
