Electrical Construction Manager

Location: Saxmundham, Suffolk
Employment Type: Permanent or Contract (Ongoing Project)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Electrical Construction Manager to join a major substation project based in Saxmundham. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a long-term infrastructure project, with both permanent and contract opportunities available.

Salary / Rates

  • Permanent: £80,000 - £85,000 per annum (DOE)
  • Contract: £400 - £450 per day (DOE)

The Role

As the Electrical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing electrical works on a live substation project, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme, and to the highest quality standards.

You will be the key point of contact between the client, subcontractors, and site teams, requiring excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all electrical construction activities on site.
  • Liaise effectively with clients, subcontractors, and the wider project team.
  • Ensure works are completed safely and in line with programme requirements.
  • Monitor quality, progress, and compliance throughout the project.
  • Attend site meetings and provide regular progress updates.
  • Ensure all site documentation and procedures are maintained.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Construction Manager on substation or similar high-voltage projects.
  • Previous experience working with ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans).
  • Strong client-facing experience with the ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating multiple work packages.
  • Relevant industry qualifications and valid site cards/certifications required.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety and quality standards within the construction sector.
