Director of Construction – Data Centres
Location: London / Europe | International Travel

About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing data centre infrastructure business focused on the development and delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data centre campuses. With an expanding international portfolio, the business is building a dedicated Design & Construction function to support the delivery of multiple developments across its regional markets. Working across acquisition, design, construction, commissioning, and operations, the organisation is focused on delivering scalable data centre capacity efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and programme certainty.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Director of Construction to provide senior leadership across multiple concurrent data centre developments and construction phases.
Based from the company's London office or other locations in Europe, with frequent international travel, this is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of data centre campuses and mission-critical infrastructure from the end of pre-construction through to construction, commissioning, and operational handover.
You will work closely with the Pre-Construction, Design, Commissioning, and Commercial leadership teams, acting as the senior construction representative across the portfolio and working with General Contractors, Construction Managers, consultants, and key supply chain partners.

Portfolio Delivery Leadership
- Lead the successful delivery of multiple data centre projects across the regional portfolio.
- Develop and implement construction strategies aligned with wider business growth objectives.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Balance priorities and resources across multiple concurrent developments.
- Build strong relationships with key supply chain partners and act as a senior escalation point on live projects.
- Provide regular portfolio performance reporting to senior leadership.
About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in construction and project leadership.
- Extensive experience within data centres, mission-critical, industrial, or infrastructure environments.
- A proven track record delivering large-scale data centre campus developments, ideally with projects exceeding 100MW of critical capacity.
- Strong knowledge across construction management, project controls, planning, procurement, contract administration, and commissioning.
- Experience delivering projects through Design & Build, EPC, Management Contracting, and/or traditional procurement models.
- Strong understanding of major contract frameworks, including FIDIC or comparable forms of contract.
- Demonstrable experience managing complex relationships across clients, contractors, suppliers, and authorities.
- Strong commercial, negotiation, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and project reporting tools.
- Experience working across international and multicultural project environments.
- A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
