Design & Construction Manager
Ringway is seeking a Design & Construction Manager to join the Hounslow contract, leading a team responsible for delivering a diverse portfolio of highways and infrastructure projects across the borough.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a commercially aware and driven leader with experience managing construction projects, supply chains and stakeholder relationships within a highways environment.
The Role
You will be responsible for leading the delivery of planned capital works programmes, including resurfacing schemes, highway improvements, public realm projects, cycleways, regeneration initiatives, structures projects and developer-led schemes. Managing a team of approximately eight Project Managers and Engineers, you will oversee project delivery from inception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
You will also play a key role in managing subcontractors and supply chain partners, maintaining strong client relationships and representing Ringway at senior stakeholder meetings.

About You
We're looking for a strong people leader with experience delivering highways, civil engineering or infrastructure projects in a construction environment.
You will have a solid understanding of project delivery, commercial management, stakeholder engagement and health & safety compliance. Experience managing budgets and leading multidisciplinary teams is essential.
Previous experience within highways construction is required, whilst exposure to structures projects, design management and professional engineering qualifications would be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery of capital works and highways improvement programmes.
- Manage resurfacing, renewal, regeneration and public realm projects.
- Oversee developer-led and third-party schemes.
- Lead and develop a team of Project Managers and Engineers.
- Manage subcontractor performance and supply chain relationships.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and within budget.
- Monitor programme performance and financial performance across a portfolio valued at approximately £5m-£7m.
- Represent Ringway at client, stakeholder and leadership meetings.

What We're Looking For
- Highways construction or project management experience.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Experience managing supply chains and subcontractors.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Strong leadership capability with experience managing technical teams.
- Commitment to health, safety and operational excellence.
A degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and professional membership with ICE, CIHT or a similar body would be beneficial, but are not essential.
Location
This role is based in Hounslow, with occasional travel for corporate and stakeholder meetings. A driving licence is essential.
