Our company is split into two business areas:
Utility Infrastructure
Our team of Utility Infrastructure specialists design, build and maintain critical water, energy (gas), power and telecoms infrastructure, for the UK’s largest network owners and operators.
Social Infrastructure
Our team of Social Infrastructure specialists revitalise homes and communities by carrying out a wide range of work, from retrofit to refurbishment, and maintenance.

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the safe, efficient, and successful delivery of complex construction projects across our portfolio. Reporting to the Project Director, you will provide strategic leadership across multiple sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a senior leadership role requiring strong operational expertise, commercial awareness, and the ability to build high-performing teams while maintaining exceptional client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Lead the construction delivery of multiple projects from mobilisation through to completion.
- Develop and implement construction strategies that support programme, quality, safety, and commercial objectives.
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual requirements.

Health, Safety & Quality
- Provide leadership and direction to Construction Managers, Site Managers, Engineers, and project delivery teams.
- Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies where required.
- Champion a positive health, safety, environmental, and quality culture across all projects.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, client requirements, and statutory legislation.
- Lead incident investigations where required and ensure lessons learned are implemented.
- Promote continuous improvement and best practice throughout project delivery.
Commercial & Financial Management
- Work closely with Commercial Managers to monitor project performance and profitability.
- Review project costs, forecasts, variations, and resource requirements.
- Support commercial negotiations and provide operational input into contractual matters.
- Drive efficiencies and identify opportunities to improve project performance.
Programme & Delivery
- Oversee project planning and resource allocation to achieve programme milestones.
- Monitor construction progress and resolve delivery challenges proactively.
Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors, and supply chain partners.
- Ensure effective communication across all project stakeholders.
- Develop strong working relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Represent the business at client meetings and project reviews.
- Provide regular progress updates to senior leadership.
- Support business development activities and contribute to future project opportunities.
People Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop construction teams to maximise performance.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive working environment.
- Support succession planning and talent development across the business.
- Promote company values and high-performance behaviours.

About You
You are an experienced construction leader with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex infrastructure or engineering projects. You combine excellent operational knowledge with strong leadership, commercial awareness, and the ability to build lasting client relationships.
Essential Experience & Skills
- Significant experience in a Senior Construction Manager, Construction Manager, or Project Director role.
- Experience delivering large-scale infrastructure, utilities, energy, civil engineering, or construction projects.
- Strong understanding of construction methodologies, planning, and project delivery.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong commercial awareness with experience working alongside commercial teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Experience within the power, utilities, renewable energy, or transmission and distribution sectors.
- Experience working under NEC contracts.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar planning software.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams across geographically dispersed projects.
Qualifications
- HNC/HND or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Black Card (or equivalent).
- First Aid at Work (desirable).
- Chartered status (MCIOB, MICE, or equivalent) desirable.
