Construction Manager (MCIOB) Remote to cover projects Buckinghamshire / Berkshire / Milton Keynes / London / Bristol
We’re working with a construction partner to hire a Construction Manager (MCIOB) to take ownership of day-to-day project and site management across a diverse portfolio. This is a senior operational role with clear progression: perform well, and there is a credible path to Construction Director within 12–24 months.
The Role You’ll lead the operational delivery of multiple live projects, ensuring quality, pace, safety and commercial control. Two experienced Contracts Managers report into this role, and you’ll work closely with senior leadership on programme performance and client satisfaction.

Type of Work
- Commercial, industrial, education and hospitality refurbishment
- No domestic or housing
- Contract values from £50k to £5m
- Mix of straightforward refurb (blockwork, suspended ceilings, carpet tiles) through to high-end hospitality fit-out
- Fast-track programmes are common, with high expectations on finish quality
Scale & Delivery
- Typically 6 live contracts at any one time (occasionally up to 10)
- On-site headcount usually 10–15, sometimes higher depending on subcontractor mix
- Smaller projects may run with teams of around 6
- Strong subcontractor management and programme control essential
Location & Working Pattern Projects sit broadly within a Northampton–London–Bristol triangle, covering: Buckinghamshire, Berkshire, Milton Keynes, London, and increasing work in Bristol. The role is site-based and home-based, with one day per week in the office.

What You’ll Bring
- MCIOB-qualified (Chartered Institute of Building, member status)
- Strong track record managing multiple refurbishment projects
- Confident leadership of site teams and subcontractors
- Ability to deliver pace, quality and commercial control
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Comfortable working across multiple regions and project types
