About Scitech-EKIUM
Scitech-EKIUM is a leading engineering, design, construction, and qualification consultancy serving the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and life sciences sectors. We deliver technically complex, highly regulated projects from concept through to handover, offering bespoke solutions and multi-disciplinary expertise built on decades of industry experience. As part of the wider EKIUM Group - a 2,500+ strong engineering community across 14 countries - we combine world class technical excellence with a personalised, client-focused approach.
About the role
As a Construction Project Manager, you will take day-to-day responsibility for running construction projects, leading, motivating and coordinating project and site teams to deliver safely, on time, within budget and to the required quality. A visible site presence is key to the role, alongside managing contractors and suppliers and acting as the first point of escalation for technical, programme, health & safety, quality, contractor performance and client matters.
The role covers construction programmes, site logistics, project controls, costs, change and contractual matters, working closely with the PMO, design, engineering and commissioning teams. Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015, Building Regulations, health & safety and Company quality procedures will be central to the role, including effective management of risk assessments, method statements, inspections, testing, snagging and handover documentation.
Strong client relationships are essential, with involvement in project reviews, tenders and business development, as well as supporting the Head of Construction with resource planning across concurrent projects. The role also provides an opportunity to mentor and develop project and site team members, drive continuous improvement and build positive relationships across the business and supply chain. Deputising for the Head of Construction will also form part of the role when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
