We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of renewable energy construction projects across Scotland.

The role will have a strong focus on utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects, overseeing construction activities from mobilisation and planning through to completion, commissioning, and handover.

You will work closely with clients, contractors, engineering teams, suppliers, and other project stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, to specification, and within agreed budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall construction and project delivery responsibility for assigned Solar PV and/or BESS projects.
  • Lead projects through mobilisation, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Manage and coordinate principal contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams.
  • Develop and monitor construction programmes, milestones, and key deliverables.
  • Coordinate civil, mechanical, and electrical construction activities.
  • Monitor progress against programme, identifying delays, risks, and recovery actions.
  • Ensure construction activities are undertaken in accordance with approved designs, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Manage project budgets, costs, variations, and commercial considerations.
  • Coordinate with engineering and design teams to resolve technical and constructability issues.
  • Manage project interfaces between civil works, electrical infrastructure, grid connection, equipment installation, and commissioning.
  • Ensure appropriate quality assurance and quality control processes are implemented throughout construction.
  • Monitor and manage project risks, issues, changes, and non-conformances.
  • Work closely with HSE teams and contractors to maintain high standards of health and safety.
  • Coordinate commissioning, testing, completion, and handover activities.
  • Provide regular project reporting to senior management and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, landowners, contractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
