Site Manager

McTaggart Construction is looking for experienced Site Managers to lead the day-to-day delivery of our social and affordable housing projects across the West of Scotland. This is a site-based role with responsibility for quality, safety, programme and people on site.

You’ll play a central role in making sure our projects are delivered safely, on time and to the right standard. You’ll work closely with your Contracts Manager and the wider operations, commercial and SHEQ teams, as well as subcontractors and external partners.

If you want to work for a business that values clear communication, consistency and teamwork, this could be a good fit.

What you’ll do

  • Take day-to-day responsibility for managing site operations on a housing project.
  • Coordinate subcontractors and site teams to ensure work meets programme and quality requirements.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with the clients and stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the Commercial team on progress, valuations and cost awareness.
  • Produce regular site reports and updates on progress against the programme.
  • Manage labour on site, including daily records and weekly reporting.
  • Promote and maintain a strong health and safety culture at all times, working closely with the SHEQ team.
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with company procedures and health and safety requirements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
