Construction Manager – Major London Project

About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Construction Manager to take a leading role in the delivery of a major construction project in London.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a strong civils and infrastructure background to take ownership of site delivery, coordinate multiple work packages and lead contractors and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.
You will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Construction & Site Delivery
- Manage the day-to-day construction activities and overall site delivery.
- Take ownership of construction delivery across multiple work packages.
- Oversee Principal Contractors, subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
- Coordinate works across civils, earthworks, drainage, utilities, highways and external works.
- Ensure construction activities are delivered in accordance with approved designs, specifications and programmes.
- Identify and resolve construction issues proactively to maintain project progress.
Programme & Project Management
- Review construction programmes, milestones and project deliverables.
- Monitor progress against agreed programme and identify potential delays or areas of concern.
- Work closely with project and design teams to coordinate construction activities.
- Monitor project risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- Provide clear and accurate progress, programme and risk updates to senior stakeholders.

Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate with design teams, project managers, contractors and key stakeholders.
- Liaise with statutory authorities and external organisations where required.
- Build effective working relationships across all levels of the project team.
- Provide strong leadership and direction across site-based activities.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Ensure all construction activities comply with CDM 2015 requirements.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, environmental and quality performance.
- Monitor contractor compliance with project procedures and relevant legislation.
- Promote a positive safety culture across the project.
- Ensure works are delivered in accordance with approved methodologies and quality standards.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Construction Manager who can demonstrate strong leadership across major UK construction or infrastructure projects.
Essential Requirements:
- 10+ years' UK construction management experience.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a senior, site-based construction management position.
- Strong civils and infrastructure background.
- Experience managing multiple contractors and construction work packages.
- Strong knowledge of construction programmes, delivery and risk management.
- Black CSCS or equivalent Manager-level card.
- Current SMSTS qualification.
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of CDM 2015.
- Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to take ownership, make decisions and resolve issues independently.
- Full right to work in the UK.
