You will report to the Head of Delivery, while working closely with the company founders. There are no unnecessary management layers, allowing decisions to be made quickly.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing programme, sequencing, labour, plant, and materials
- Producing weekly look-ahead programmes and driving progress
- Managing directly employed operatives and subcontractors
- Maintaining health, safety, and environmental standards
- Monitoring quality throughout the project
- Keeping accurate site records and progress reports
- Identifying variations, delays, and cost risks early
- Leading client meetings, handover, and project close-out
What We Are Looking For
- Site Manager experience, or an experienced Assistant Site Manager ready to progress
- Experience delivering projects valued between £250,000 and £5 million
- Strong new-build or refurbishment knowledge, with an understanding of groundworks and civils
- Ability to read drawings, understand technical details, and identify issues early
- Confidence managing operatives and subcontractors
- SMSTS or SSSTS, CSCS, and First Aid at Work
- Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
- MCIOB status, public-sector experience, and Temporary Works Coordinator training would be beneficial but are not essential. We will fund SMSTS training and professional development for the right candidate.
