Construction Subcontracts Manager & Engineer

CCL Global is recruiting for a Construction Subcontracts Manager and Construction Subcontracts Engineer to support a major energy project.

The positions will support the management and administration of construction subcontracts across Mechanical, Buildings and E&I scopes on a major EPIC project.

Location: Talacre, North Wales

Contract: Ltd company contract. (outside IR35)

Working Pattern: Full-time – 5.5 days per week

Sector: Energy / Oil & Gas

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and administer construction subcontract packages.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and contractual compliance.
  • Review and validate subcontractor progress payments.
  • Manage contractual correspondence, notices and responses.
  • Identify and assess variations, claims, delays and cost impacts.
  • Review Site Technical Queries, Site Instructions and Deviation Requests.
  • Negotiate new prices and commercial changes with subcontractors.
  • Manage extra works, back charges, liquidated damages and subcontract close-out.
  • Support change management and forecast analysis.
  • Ensure appropriate completion certification and subcontract documentation.
  • Work closely with Project Management and construction teams throughout project delivery.

Requirements

Construction Subcontracts Engineer

  • 3–5 years' Quantity Surveying / Subcontracts experience.
  • Previous experience within the Oil & Gas or Energy sectors.
  • Experience supporting large construction projects.
  • Onshore construction experience – essential.
  • Experience with subcontract administration, variations, claims, progress measurement and commercial negotiations.
  • Candidates with a combination of onshore and offshore experience are also welcome.

  • Minimum 5 years' Quantity Surveying / commercial experience.
  • Experience within offshore facilities, industrial plants, complex construction, Oil & Gas or wider Energy projects.
  • Previous exposure to contract/subcontract management.
  • Ability to lead Subcontract Engineers and Administrators.
  • Strong experience managing subcontract performance, variations, claims and commercial negotiations.
  • Experience managing subcontract forecasts and commercial close-out.
  • Strong commercial and stakeholder management capability.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants must currently reside in the UK and hold full, permanent UK right to work. Sponsorship is not available for these positions.
