Construction Supervisor / Clerk of Works – Major Infrastructure Project

📍 Northwest
💰 All-inclusive day rate – negotiable
📅 Monday–Friday | 50-hour week | Weekend flexibility required

Are you an experienced Construction Supervisor / Clerk of Works with a strong background in tunnelling and water infrastructure?

I’m working with a specialist engineering company delivering high-risk, technically complex infrastructure projects. The business provides end-to-end engineering expertise across civil, structural, and geotechnical disciplines, taking ownership of some of the industry's most challenging frontline engineering problems.

My client is acting as the Independent Technical Authority (ITA) on a major infrastructure programme to upgrade miles of old tunnels.

🔧 The Role

As Construction Supervisor, you will provide independent construction supervision and assurance, ensuring works are delivered safely and in accordance with design, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising construction activities across multiple project phases, from compound construction through to excavation, tunnelling, and commissioning of potable water assets
  • Reviewing and verifying construction drawings, specifications, and contractor submissions
  • Monitoring contractor activities and maintaining detailed site records, inspection reports, and progress documentation
  • Challenging and escalating non-compliant or unsuitable construction practices
  • Providing independent assurance to the client
  • Overseeing health, safety, and environmental compliance, including medium-risk confined space activities
  • Carrying out regular site inspections, verification checks, and quality assurance activities
  • Liaising with contractors, project stakeholders, and the Principal Construction Supervisor
  • Ensuring works comply with relevant water industry standards, client requirements, and legislation
  • Maintaining accurate and auditable project documentation throughout the construction lifecycle
  • Supporting the successful delivery of critical potable water infrastructure

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
