Job Opportunity
Airswift is seeking for a CONSTRUCTION SUPERVISOR (ELECTRICAL / CATHODIC PROTECTION) to work in Qatar with a major Oil & Gas Company.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an internationally recognized university.
- Certified Cathodic Protection (CP) Level 3 (minimum) by NACE Institute.
- Relevant certifications in Construction, Safety, and Quality, such as IOSH / NEBOSH.
- Additional relevant training in HSE, QA/QC, and Construction Management.
- Strong construction management skills with effective communication and conflict resolution abilities.
Experience
- Minimum 12 years of experience in the relevant discipline, including construction, installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning of oil & gas facilities.
- Proven supervisory-level experience in HV, MV, and LV electrical systems.
- Thorough working knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), IEC, or equivalent international standards.
- Solid understanding of:
- Electrical installation methods, materials, and specifications
- Hazardous area classification and requirements
- In-depth expertise in:
- Cathodic Protection (CP) systems: monitoring, installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting
- Corrosion monitoring and control systems
- Hands-on experience in CP systems for reinforced concrete structures.
- Demonstrated experience implementing construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.
- Ability to interpret method statements, construction schedules, drawings, and technical documents.
- Capable of resolving technical and contractual issues at site.
- Experience working with multinational contractors.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Act as the construction focal point for Electrical and Cathodic Protection works on multi-discipline projects.
- Control and supervise construction and installation activities for multiple projects.
- Chair weekly construction progress meetings and coordinate with discipline supervisors, senior project engineers, and other departments.
- Review and monitor construction planning and schedules, identify slippages, and assist in optimizing contractors’ resources to meet project milestones.
- Review and approve contractors’:
- Construction plans and schedules
- Method statements
- Job Safety Analyses (JSAs)
- Pre-commissioning and commissioning procedures
- Endorse red-lined as-built drawings and complete construction dossiers.
- Assist during contractors’ mobilization and demobilization.
- Ensure full compliance with:
- safety regulations
- Project safety plans
- State of Qatar environmental regulations
- Control and endorse work permits.
- Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with Project Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Coordinate with stakeholders to resolve routine site issues and escalate technical queries to Senior Construction Supervisor or Project Engineer.
- Prepare and update daily and weekly construction progress reports and verify contractors’ progress claims.
- Prepare, categorize, and track punch lists, ensuring timely closure by contractors.
- Coordinate pre-commissioning activities and provide support during commissioning.
- Initiate and facilitate issuance of:
- Mechanical Completion Certificates (MCC)
- Handover Certificates (HOC)
- Acceptance Certificates (AC)
- Project Completion & Discharge Certificates
- Support the development and mentoring of Qatari engineers.
