Job Description

Are you an experienced construction professional looking to use your skills in a different way? Would you enjoy passing on your knowledge and helping the next generation develop practical construction skills?

YTKO are looking for a Construction Tutor to join their team across Devon and Cornwall, with both full-time and part-time positions considered. Offering a salary of £34,000-£36,000 per annum, depending on experience, this could be a great opportunity for someone from a construction background looking to move into training and education, or an experienced tutor looking for their next role.

YTKO is a leading business support and training provider, delivering high-quality Skills Bootcamps and funded programmes that help individuals develop in-demand skills and support employers to address workforce needs. Working in partnership with local authorities, employers, and the DWP, we deliver practical, employer-led training that enables learners to progress into new roles, gain additional responsibilities, or advance their careers while supporting businesses to build a skilled and resilient workforce.

In the South West of England, YTKO is an established public sector delivery partner, helping local authorities including Devon County Council, Cornwall Council, and the West of England Mayoral Combined Authority to support underrepresented communities, groups, and individuals so that they can access skills, training, and business support.

Overview of Role

The Construction Tutor role will be working as part of the Skills Bootcamp programme, in partnership with local authorities and the DWP.

The successful candidate will be working on a range of Skills Bootcamps, including Women in Construction, Property Maintenance and Retrofit Readiness, and Project Management and Leadership in Construction. Skills Bootcamps aim to address skills gaps for all types of businesses and individuals through a range of strategic & theoretical skillsets.

The role involves delivering engaging training covering construction industry practices, health and safety legislation, the safe use of tools and equipment, property maintenance and repair techniques, retrofit readiness, energy efficiency principles, sustainable construction practices, and practical skills development through in-person masterclass refreshers in areas such as decorating, tools, plumbing, carpentry, and other core construction trades. The Construction Tutor will also be delivering workshops and 1:1 advice to help ambitious businesses achieve their goals.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
