Senior Data & Finance Transformation Consultant
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data & Finance Transformation Consultant with a strong background across Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), Microsoft Fabric, Data Engineering, and Power BI to support a major finance data transformation programme within the public sector.
This is a consultative engagement, requiring someone who can combine deep technical expertise with strategic advisory capabilities. You'll work closely with senior technology and finance stakeholders to shape the future of the organisation's finance data and reporting landscape while driving best practice and building internal capability.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
- Lead the transformation of the organisation's finance data and reporting ecosystem
- Provide strategic guidance on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), Microsoft Fabric, Data Engineering, and Power BI solutions
- Design and improve end-to-end finance data architecture and reporting capabilities
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior Finance and Technology stakeholders
- Coach, mentor, and upskill internal teams to establish long-term capability
- Define and implement best practices across data engineering, reporting, governance, and analytics
- Align finance systems, reporting, and data architecture with long-term organisational objectives
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to deliver scalable, sustainable data solutions
- Identify opportunities to improve reporting, automation, and decision-making through modern Microsoft technologies
- Support the development of a future-state data and analytics strategy

✅ Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O), particularly finance data models and reporting
- Proven expertise with Microsoft Fabric, Data Engineering, and modern Microsoft Data Platform technologies
- Advanced Power BI development and reporting experience
- Strong understanding of finance systems, reporting architecture, and enterprise data management
- Experience delivering data transformation and analytics initiatives within complex organisations
- Ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, translating business requirements into technical solutions
- Proven experience providing consultancy, coaching, mentoring, and knowledge transfer
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience shaping data strategy, governance, and best practice

📌 Additional Requirements
- Previous UK Public Sector experience is highly desirable
- Experience working within large, complex organisations
- Must be UK-based (no sponsorship available)
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on technical levels throughout the engagement
