Department: Consulting

Location: Manchester

Description

CMap is a fast-growing software company helping project-based businesses win, deliver, and manage work… profitably.

At our core, we’re problem-solvers. That means our consultancy team is central to our success — guiding clients to adopt CMap in ways that transform their business. We focus on delivering exceptional onboarding, building strong business processes, and ensuring our clients get maximum value from our platform.

Our consultants are trusted to lead projects from start to finish, challenge the status quo, and help clients unlock new ways of working. We combine expertise in project management, change management, and stakeholder engagement with deep product knowledge to make sure every implementation delivers measurable impact.

We’re proud of our product and even prouder of our people. Collaboration, openness, and input from across the business drive both our culture and our success. We keep things friendly and informal, but we’re serious about delivering exceptional results for our clients — and enjoying the journey together.

What we're looking for:

As a Consultant at CMap, you'll work directly with client stakeholders — understanding how their business runs today and shaping how CMap's platform helps it run better tomorrow. You'll sit alongside a team with genuine management-consulting pedigree.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Partner with clients to understand their business, not just their software requirements
  • Lead workstreams across implementation, configuration, and adoption of the CMap platform
  • Build credibility with senior client stakeholders — you'll be in the room, not just on the call
  • Bring structure and clarity to ambiguous problems, and help clients navigate change
  • Work closely with the wider Consulting team to continuously sharpen how we deliver

What you'll need to succeed:

  • Several years' professional consulting or client-facing delivery experience ideally including time in a Big Four, boutique, or comparable consultancy
  • A track record of building trust with senior stakeholders — you're comfortable in the room, not just prepared for it
  • Genuine curiosity about how businesses work, and the confidence to ask why, not just how
  • An interest in how technology and AI are changing the way professional services firms operate
  • A collaborative, low-ego approach — we want real people, not corporate polish for its own sake
