About The Role
We are looking for a Consultant to join XPS’ Corporate Advisory team on a full-time basis where they will provide support across a range of client projects as well as on sales and marketing initiatives. The ideal candidate would be a nearly/newly-qualified actuary.
Key Responsibilities
Client work (broadly two-thirds of overall time):
- Becoming part of client teams providing strategic advice to ongoing corporate clients in relation to their DB pension arrangements (including advice on actuarial valuations, endgame options, surplus/run-on strategies and the pensions aspects of corporate transactions).
- Producing company accounting disclosures.
- Overseeing actuarial modelling work carried out by more junior members of staff.
- Being responsible for producing our advice to clients and then delivering this advice to them at meetings.
- Building effective relationships with clients.

Business development (broadly one-third of overall time):
- Supporting the Corporate Leadership Group team with sales and marketing initiatives. This could involve carrying out research on particular prospects, working with more junior staff to set up Radar (our online asset and liability tracking software tool) for prospects or working on specific BD campaigns.
Support and mentoring will be available from existing Consultants / Senior Consultants who are engaged with corporate work as well from the Corporate Leadership Group.
