Consultant Anaesthetist
£90-£92 per hour | NHS Trust, UK | Monday to Friday, 07:30-18:00 | On-Site
MedicsPro are recruiting for an experienced Consultant Anaesthetist to support an NHS Trust with ongoing locum requirements from ASAP until 28th November with potential to extend. This role involves covering a mixture of elective theatre lists across multiple specialties, with a minimum commitment of 4 days per week available. There is also flexibility to undertake additional ad hoc sessions, subject to service requirements and availability.
Essential Requirements
- GMC registration with a licence to practise
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthetics, or eligible status
- Recent NHS experience working as a Consultant Anaesthetist
- Proven experience supporting elective theatre activity
- Ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary theatre environment
- Right to work in the UK

Key Responsibilities
- Provide anaesthetic cover for elective theatre lists across multiple specialties
- Undertake pre-operative assessment and peri-operative patient management
- Deliver safe anaesthetic care in accordance with NHS and departmental protocols
- Support theatre efficiency and patient flow throughout operating sessions
- Manage post-operative anaesthetic care and recovery planning
- Work collaboratively with surgical, theatre, and recovery teams
