Poole and Bournemouth Hospitals are reconfiguring services to improve access to specialist and consultant care for emergency pathways and ensure high quality, high volume patient-centred elective care by redeveloping these two Trusts into Major Emergency and Major Planned Care sites. This is part of a wider Dorset vision to transform our hospitals, community services and primary care to enable us to meet the needs of local people and deliver better outcomes for patients.
This is an exciting opportunity for applicants to play a key role in developing services.
These posts are the result of a demand/capacity gap analysis. The posts are full-time 10 PA contracts (which include 1.5 SPA, with additional SPA for defined roles, and the opportunity to take an optional additional PA) and includes contribution to the out of hours consultant on call rota.
We are developing our elective capacity at weekends. The post holder may have elective weekend activity in their job plan.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
