The Opportunity
Our award-winning Business Investor Advisory (BIA) team are recruiting in London and are seeking an individual who can contribute to delivering interesting, complex and challenging advisory assignments. The role would be suited to someone in the early stages of their career with some existing experience in this or a relevant sector.
Your role will be to rapidly understand the infrastructure asset(s) and highlight any critical ESG risks /opportunities, understanding the ESG/H&S/regulatory elements and articulating these and their potential impacts to our clients.
You will be working in a dynamic environment and will be expected to show initiative, take responsibility for work assigned to you, and show resourcefulness in analysis and problem solving. We are looking for someone with experience in one or more of the fields below, but our aim is to provide training and opportunities across the due diligence, lenders advisory and H&S services that we offer.
Your role will involve:
- Contributing to ESG/E&S/H&S due diligence and advisory work, collaborating closely with topic specialists within the business to understand the key risks.
- Responsibility for reviewing asset data including technical reports, performance data, management systems, strategies to understand key risks and potential opportunities. Collaborating closely with technical/commercial specialists to reduce the impact of risks.
- Opportunities to project manage, co-ordinate and produce discrete sections of ESG due diligence reports.
- Contributing to business development – contributing to proposals, keeping abreast of potential opportunities, supporting the development of new service offerings.

Is this role right for you?
We are seeking an individual with an understanding of the economic, commercial, and regulatory issues and drivers of the ESG sector, with the ability to produce high quality, client-ready deliverables (such as due diligence reports and proposals) that are well written and visually presentable. You will have a degree in a related discipline and be adaptable and open to working on new topics. We expect our consultants to be willing to work across all aspects of our work including ESG, E&S and H&S.

Knowledge/experience of any of the following areas is beneficial. We are not expecting experience of all the points listed:
- Due diligence – direct experience of buy side, vendor and/or lender ESG/H&S due diligence in the sectors we operate is advantageous.
- Application of Governance topics in a due diligence context – ESG strategy and reporting, organisation, compliance management, business ethics.
- Application of Environmental topics in a due diligence context – Environmental management and performance, permitting and compliance, Greenhouse Gas emissions, climate risk, specific environmental risks e.g., biodiversity, circularity, contamination.
- Application of Social topics in a due diligence context – stakeholder engagement and community relations, human rights and supply chains, labour management and DEI.
- Application of Health & Safety topics in a due diligence context – occupational/operational health & safety, health & wellbeing, safety culture and behavioural safety and legal compliance.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and schemes such as: ISO14001 (environmental), ISO45001 (occupational health & safety), EU Taxonomy and Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and Equator Principles and other lender E&S standards, such as the IFC Performance Standards.
