We are pleased to invite enthusiastic and dynamic candidates to join our team. This is a new permanent 10 PA role which has been created to meet the increasing demand for children's mental health services in the borough.

This is a split role between community CAMHS and the Paediatric Mental Health team (PMHT) at the Whittington hospital, where you will be based for one day a week.

You will support Islington community CAMHS, by providing clinical leadership, psychiatric consultations and appropriate interventions as needed, and will provide clinical leadership to the Paediatric Liaison Team with an emphasis on crisis assessments and management. There are opportunities for paediatric liaison work if this is in the post holder’s interests.

Interview date: 6th October 2026

Please note that as per our Trust processes you will be expected to make yourself available to attend a face to face interview if successfully short listed for this post.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
