ADHD Medication Service
Flexible sessional work | Remote clinics | Children and young people | Competitive professional fees
Advanced Assessments Ltd is expanding its ADHD medication service and is seeking experienced Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescribers.
The successful clinicians will provide pre-treatment medical reviews, medication initiation, structured titration, prescribing, monitoring and ongoing medication reviews for children and young people diagnosed with ADHD.
This opportunity is suited to experienced prescribers who can work flexibly, exercise independent clinical judgement and provide safe, responsive and evidence-based care.
The Role
You will review ADHD diagnostic and medical information, assess whether medication can be initiated safely, discuss treatment options with children, young people and their families, and prescribe where clinically appropriate.
You will conduct regular titration reviews, assess symptom improvement and functional change, monitor adverse effects and physical-health information, and adjust medication according to clinical response and tolerability.
You will also communicate with GPs and other professionals, prepare clear clinical correspondence and support shared-care arrangements where these are clinically appropriate and accepted by the GP.
Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists may also be asked to review complex cases involving psychiatric comorbidity, diagnostic uncertainty or elevated clinical risk.
Clinical Pharmacist Independent Prescribers must work within a clearly evidenced scope of competence and have appropriate access to medical or psychiatric escalation when a case falls outside that scope.
Essential Requirements
- Have substantial recent experience of initiating and titrating ADHD medication.
- Have experience of prescribing for children and young people.
- Be currently practising through a CQC-registered provider or practice authorised for the relevant regulated activity.
- Have their own lawful and secure prescribing arrangements.
- Have access to their own prescription stationery and any required private controlled-drug prescriber identification code.
- Be able to issue prescriptions in their own name without relying on Advanced Assessments Ltd to supply a prescription pad.
- Hold current professional indemnity insurance covering private ADHD prescribing and work with children.
- Have an enhanced DBS certificate and appropriate safeguarding training.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate promptly with families, GPs and other professionals.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
