The Opportunity

Our Business Investor Advisory (BIA) team works closely with institutional investors, utilities, government and regulators to advise on investments supporting the sustainable acceleration of the energy transition. We are looking for an experienced consultant to support the delivery of technical due diligence assignments across onshore/offshore wind, solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and electricity networks (DNOs/TSOs).

Our market leading team advises on transactions across a broad spectrum of energy infrastructure assets harnessing a diverse range of analytical, technical, commercial, economic and business skills and experience into concise and value driven advice for our clients. Our team is consistently recognised as an award-winning technical advisor across energy infrastructure globally with particular expertise in renewable energy and decarbonisation. The focus for this role will be renewable power generation and electricity networks.

As a consultant in the team, you will be responsible both for supporting the continued growth and development of our award-winning team. Delivering the highest quality work products in a transaction advisory context will be of utmost importance.

Is this role right for you?

You will be responsible for helping to scope and budget assignments or parts of projects and managing these accordingly to deliver work of the highest quality, on time and in line with agreed targets. You will be supporting the Project Manager and Project Director by attending client facing meetings as well as participating in business development activities.

You will have and actively developing broad and deep sectoral knowledge in the areas in which we operate and be prepared to contribute this to enhance the performance of our team. We are particularly interested in renewable energy (wind preferred, BESS or solar pv) as well as power system utilities experience.

We are seeking an experienced Consultant with industry experience to support our project delivery capability and to support integrated team working between our technical due diligence services. You will have a degree in Electrical Engineering, and either be a chartered individual or working towards chartership. Key skills/attributes include:

  • Experience of wind, solar life cycle or electricity networks including technical due diligence, design, operations, construction etc. Assessing operational performance of wind assets (preferably) as well as solar and BESS assets. Broad knowledge of electricity networks DNOs/TSOs.
  • Reviewing business plan assumptions for renewable energy investments. Prior experience in assisting in the delivery of business advisory type assignments is desirable.
  • Preparation of high-quality bid documents, market analysis, technical data and information review, assessment and manipulation.
  • A background in the preparation of due diligence reports for lenders and investors.
  • Commercially and financially aware with a strong business interest.
