Join Ashford and St Peter’s Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant Haematologist, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care across inpatient, outpatient and laboratory services. You will work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team across two sites, supporting diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management of haematology patients. The role includes participation in on-call rotas, MDT working, teaching, audit and service development. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to an integrated haematology service, with strong network links and support for professional development, research and innovation in a forward-thinking NHS organisation.

INTERVIEWS FOR THIS POST WILL BE HELD IN PERSON ON 06/11/2026

  • Deliver high-quality clinical, educational and managerial services at Consultant level.
  • Provide direct patient care including assessment, diagnosis, treatment and ongoing management.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team across Ashford & St Peter’s and Royal Surrey County Hospital.
  • Participate in ward rounds, outpatient clinics, MDT meetings, day unit and anticoagulation services.
  • Contribute to on-call rotas and provide senior clinical cover, including reviewing admissions and triaging patients.
  • Support teaching, training and supervision of junior medical and non-medical staff.
  • Engage in clinical governance, audit, research and quality improvement activities.
  • Provide clinical leadership and contribute to service development and innovation.
  • Support recruitment, appraisal, mentoring and development of multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Maintain responsibility for patient care, including safe handover and providing specialist advice to other teams.

Services Provided

St Peter’s Hospital delivers complex medical and surgical care, maternity and emergency services. Day and orthopaedic surgery, ophthalmology and outpatient services are delivered at Ashford Hospital. Additional services are delivered at Woking Community Hospital.
