Consultant Hand Surgeon – Orthopaedic Hand Surgery

We are currently working with a leading independent healthcare provider in Birmingham that is looking to expand its Orthopaedic Hand Surgery service and appoint an experienced Consultant Hand Surgeon.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established elective surgical service, working within modern facilities alongside an experienced and supportive multidisciplinary team.
The service provides high-quality elective care to both NHS and privately funded patients, with a strong focus on clinical excellence, patient experience, and efficient pathways of care.
The Role
As Consultant Hand Surgeon, you will provide specialist assessment, diagnosis, and surgical management for patients presenting with a range of orthopaedic hand conditions.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing expert clinical assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with hand surgical conditions
- Performing elective orthopaedic hand surgery in line with the agreed case mix
- Managing patients throughout their surgical pathway and ensuring consistently high standards of care
- Providing specialist clinical advice to nursing and wider multidisciplinary teams when required
- Working closely with theatre, nursing, and clinical colleagues to ensure safe and effective patient care
- Following established clinical governance, hospital protocols, and working practices
- Contributing to a positive, collaborative, and patient-focused clinical environment
About You
We are looking for an experienced Consultant with strong expertise in orthopaedic hand surgery and the ability to provide both expert clinical opinion and high-quality surgical care.

You will need:
- GMC registration
- Entry on the GMC Specialist Register
- Extensive experience in Orthopaedics and Hand Surgery
- Strong operative and clinical decision-making skills
- A commitment to providing safe, effective, and patient-centred care
- Excellent communication and multidisciplinary working skills
- The right to work in the UK
