Role Description
This is a substantive post to replace a retirement in the Gastroenterology Unit at the Royal Infirmary, Edinburgh. It will be based in the Hepatology Unit of the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and involve both out-patient and in-patient activities.
Weekly Timetable:
- Two outpatient clinics (one in general hepatology and one in liver transplant)
- Supervision of a registrar (ST) clinic
- An endoscopy list
- Outreach liver transplant clinics in Aberdeen and Dundee (x4/year each)
- In-patient duties including responsibility for acute hepatology patients in Ward 205 (6 weeks per year) and liver transplant patients in Ward 206T and critical care (8 weeks per year), along with triage of referrals to the liver service
- Contribution to out-of-hours hepatology cover
