About the Role

Key Details
- Work Type: Full-time
- Flexible Working Arrangements: Consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.
Eligibility
- Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.
Salary
- An enhanced starting salary of £140,342 under the excellent Consultant contract for Wales.
Application Requirements
- Provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full.
- Applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.

Role Responsibilities
- Primary Interest: Breast pathology
- Further Interests: Gynaecological pathology, breast pathology, head and neck, endocrine, and pulmonary pathology.
- The post would suit either a first-time Consultant or an established Consultant Histopathologist wishing to relocate. There is no cervical cytology requirement.
- Provide and develop a wide-ranging cellular pathology service to primary, secondary, and tertiary care colleagues.
- Take a lead role in the development of specialist diagnostic techniques to meet the increasing demands of clinical users.
- Participate in the training of specialty trainees, scientific and BMS staff.
- Contribute to the requirements of clinical governance and share in the administrative duties associated with the running of a clinical laboratory.
