Play a leading role in the delivery and development of Acute Medicine services at Prince Philip Hospital, helping to shape urgent and emergency care across Hywel Dda University Health Board.
We are seeking a Consultant in Acute and General Medicine to join our team at Prince Philip Hospital, Llanelli. This substantive, full-time post offers the opportunity to contribute to the continued development of a comprehensive 7-day Acute Medicine service across the hospital and wider Health Board.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the assessment and management of acute medical patients, providing clinical leadership within the Acute Medical Assessment Unit (AMAU), Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and hot specialty clinics. The role also provides an opportunity to contribute to the development and strategic direction of the new Urgent Care Centre.
We welcome applications from clinicians whose primary focus is Acute Medicine and can support those wishing to maintain specialist interests or develop liaison roles with other medical specialties.

Based primarily at Prince Philip Hospital, you will work closely with colleagues across Hywel Dda University Health Board, contributing to the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care across the region.
The successful candidate will provide with other consultant colleagues a service in Acute Medicine to oversee medical patient care within AMAU and Same Day Emergency Care Unit (SDEC) on a rotational basis as well as supporting the development of sub-speciality interest if applicable. There is also an expectation to participate in the medical on-call rota at Prince Philip Hospital on a 1:11 basis.
