Required to fill this new post within the Cardiology Department with a focus on cardiac electrophysiology and implantable cardiac devices at Leeds General Infirmary.

About the Role
The electrophysiology service in Leeds is a high-volume tertiary centre offering the full range of contemporary technologies. Over 1200 ablation procedures are performed annually, including atrial fibrillation ablation using radiofrequency, cryoballoon, and pulse field ablation technologies, alongside complex atrial tachycardia and ventricular arrhythmia ablation. In addition, more than 1000 device procedures are undertaken each year, including complex pacing, ICD and CRT implantation, conduction system pacing, and lead extraction.

The department is equipped with state-of-the-art electroanatomical mapping systems and imaging integration and provides a comprehensive arrhythmia service including physiologist-led follow-up, remote monitoring, and multidisciplinary care pathways. The service is supported by specialist arrhythmia nurses, cardiac physiologists, research staff, and fellows.
Leeds is actively engaged in the adoption and evaluation of emerging technologies in electrophysiology, including pulse field ablation, advanced mapping techniques, conduction system pacing strategies, leadless pacing technology and novel ICD therapies.
Job Summary
The successful applicant will specialise in electrophysiology and device therapy. We are seeking an individual focused on clinical excellence and innovation, who will contribute to the continued development of the ablation and device programmes in Leeds.
The post-holder will contribute to the general cardiology service and on-call rota as required. A commitment to clinical research and service development is expected, alongside a strong interest in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
Qualifications and Experience
The successful applicant should possess MRCP (or equivalent) and be included on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of CCT at the time of interview, if currently in a UK training programme. In accordance with consultant appointment regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register.
