Applications are invited for a full time (10PA) consultant pathology post based in Ninewells Hospital, Dundee.

Known as “the City Of Discovery” for its track record in biomedical research, Dundee is also called “Scotland’s Coolest City” for its culture, including the spectacular new V&A Design Museum on Dundee’s Riverside. The wider Tayside region is great for a healthy work-life balance, with:

ONE CONSULTANT CELLULAR PATHOLOGIST POST
An interest in or specialist commitment to lymphoreticular pathology is sought, preferably combined with additional interest(s) within the range of cellular pathology services and duties provided locally.

OUR DEPARTMENT
The Department is friendly and well-resourced. We work well with, and are right next to the Department of Genetics, perfect for molecular pathology pathways. We benefit from:
- A collegiate team of 15 NHS consultants (by head count), including this role, undertaking daily consensus meetings
- Up to 9 specialist trainees
- Significant trimming support: 1 advanced practitioner and 3 other BMSs
- Up to date IT, voice recognition, ongoing roll-out of digital pathology, dedicated IT management support
- Consensual, flexible approach to rotas
- Strong clinical lead support for ongoing training and CPD
- Flexible working, with EPAs available by negotiation. Applicants wanting to work part time are encouraged to apply and will be considered
- Supportive modernizing leadership with development activity that includes digital pathology, ongoing BMS role-extension, trialling home working, and a dedicated molecular pathology service

If you have trained in the UK you should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from date of interview.
