Requirements
Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.
Job Details
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in Royal Hospital for Sick Children and Royal Edinburgh Hospital.
Applications are invited from enthusiastic candidates to join a well-established child and adolescent mental health team in Tier 4 CAMHS. We would welcome applicants who would like to work a range of timetables and are very supportive of flexible working and less than full time (LTFT) job plans.

This post would be split equally between The Melville Unit, the CAMHS in-patient Unit located in The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People and CAOT (including Day Programme), the Tier 4 out-patient services.
Tier4 CAMHS is composed of the 12-bedded in-patient unit (Melville Unit) and CAOT (CAMHS Assertive Outreach Team) and Day Programme. West Lothian has its own Tier 4 out-patient services. The Melville Unit is a Southeast Scotland Regional Unit with Patients admitted from not only NHS Lothian CAMHS Teams but also NHS Borders and NHS Fife CAMHS Teams. You would be part of a multidisciplinary team which is based in the CAMHS in-patient. Disorders seen include, but are not limited to, eating disorders, psychosis and affective disorders. There is close co-operation between the in-patient Unit and CAOT. The aim of CAOT is to support discharges from the in-patient unit to community CAMHS and to work with community CAMHS Teams to prevent the need for an in-patient admission by providing enhanced support to a young person. The post would also include sessions in Day Programme. Day Programme is a Monday to Friday daily provision for young people over the age of 12y who need additional support and /or further assessment. This multi-disciplinary team delivers a wider range of interventions either via individual work or group sessions with most patients receiving a combination of both. It is often used as a step-down from the Melville, especially for patients with an eating disorder and this post would provide continuity of care.
