Consultant Psychiatrist Opportunity in Pembrokeshire

Make a lasting difference to mental health services in Pembrokeshire as a Consultant Psychiatrist, delivering high-quality care while helping to shape the future of community mental health provision across the region.
We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our Community Mental Health Team based at South Pembrokeshire Hospital, Pembroke Dock. This is an opportunity to work within an established multidisciplinary team providing high-quality care to adults across both community and inpatient settings.
You will play a key role in the delivery and development of mental health services, working closely with colleagues to provide compassionate, evidence-based care tailored to the needs of our local population. Alongside clinical responsibilities, you will have opportunities to contribute to teaching and training, supporting medical students and junior doctors, as well as participating in audit, quality improvement and service development activities.
With strong links to Swansea University and Cardiff University, the post offers opportunities to pursue sub-specialty interests and become involved in research that supports innovation and improves patient outcomes.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide clinical leadership across community and inpatient services, helping to shape the future of adult mental health care in Pembrokeshire. Working closely with a dedicated multidisciplinary team, you will ensure services are compassionate, evidence‑based, and responsive to the needs of our local population.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality clinical care in Adult General Psychiatry
- Leading and supporting the multidisciplinary team
- Contributing to teaching, training, and research activities
- Applying expertise in assessment, treatment, and community management
- Supporting the development of medical students, junior doctors, and wider staff
- Participating in CPD, audit, and service improvement initiatives
