Community Child Health and Child Neurodevelopmental Paediatric Consultant

We are seeking a Community Child Health and Child Neurodevelopmental paediatric consultant to join our dynamic and friendly department at the Cheyne child development service.

About the Role

This post is for a Community paediatrician especially with interest in Neurodevelopmental Disorders, Social Communication Disorders, and Social Paediatrics. The successful applicant will join our team in providing excellent care to our local children and their families.

This post is for 7 PA, to start as soon as possible.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates are expected to be on the GMC specialist Register in paediatrics with CCT/CCST in Community Paediatrics, or to be UK specialist trainees within 6 months of CCT/CCST/CESR at the date of interview.

Responsibilities

The post holder will be a paediatrician trained to consultant level in all aspects of community paediatrics. The post holder:

  • Will provide consultant paediatric input for social communication assessments in the preschool social communication pathway and the school-age social communication pathway
  • Will provide consultant paediatric input for neurodevelopmental clinics within a multidisciplinary team
  • Will provide consultant paediatric input for ADHD clinics both in terms of assessment and in terms of management
  • Will contribute to and support the clinical governance programme of the Trust
  • Will contribute to the undergraduate medical teaching programme
  • Individual posts will also include specified roles from the Departmental job plan, to be discussed at interview

About West London Children’s Healthcare (WLCH)

West London Children’s Healthcare was formed on 1st April 2022, bringing paediatric services at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Foundation Trust (CWFT) under a single leadership structure accountable to both Trust Boards for all elements of operational, quality, safety, and financial performance. WLCH runs services from Chelsea & Westminster Hospital; Hammersmith Hospital; St Mary’s Hospital, and West Middlesex Hospital. In addition, two child development services operate from the Cheyne Centre and Woodfield Road.
