Requirements
Applicants must have full GMC Registration, a license to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register. Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from the date of interview. Portfolio Pathway (formerly known as CESR - Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive consultant post once it has been awarded. Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training.

Role Details
Applications are welcome for the above Permanent, full time (40 hours per week) post based in:
- 1 Cambridge Street House, 5 Cambridge Street, Edinburgh, EH1 2DY
- 2 Ballenden House, 28/30 Howden Street, Edinburgh, EH8 9HL
There are 3 full time posts in Community Psychiatry in Edinburgh.
- The consultant would be joining another full time consultant, a full time consultant with management responsibilities and a part time specialty doctor in the South West Community Team.
- The other 2 posts are in the South East Community Team where there are 2 vacancies currently filled by internal backfill and a locum. They would be joining a 7 session specialty doctor.
The work includes:
- Regular outpatient clinics
- Liaising with sector GPs
- Mental Health Act work including community Compulsory Treatment Orders
- Providing consultant input to the Community Mental Health Team

We are currently developing a city wide service for Neurodevelopmental Conditions including an MDT approach. If a candidate is particularly interested in working in this area then the post could be adjusted to suit.
