An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine to join one of Ireland's leading specialist rehabilitation hospitals in Dublin in a permanent substantive Consultant post.

This is a unique opportunity to lead the development of a brand-new Neurorehabilitation Service and help shape the future of specialist neurological rehabilitation. The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership while working alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

The Neurorehabilitation Unit is a dedicated 12-bed inpatient service, providing intensive rehabilitation for adults with acquired neurological disabilities and progressive neurological conditions, with a focus on maximising independence and functional recovery.

The Role

This role combines clinical practice with service leadership. The successful candidate will:

  • Lead the Neurorehabilitation Service
  • Support its ongoing development
  • Manage adults with complex neurological conditions
  • Contribute to teaching, research, quality improvement, and multidisciplinary working

Requirements

  • Be registered, or eligible for Specialist Registration with the Irish Medical Council (IMC) in Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Hold a CCT, CSCST, or equivalent specialist qualification in Rehabilitation Medicine
  • Have experience managing adults with complex neurological and rehabilitation needs
  • Have expertise in neurorehabilitation, including acquired brain injury, stroke, spinal cord injury, and progressive neurological disorder
  • Demonstrate experience working within and leading multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams

What We Offer

  • The current Consultant salary ranges from €238,221 to €286,151 for a 37-hour week, with any additional work paid separately
  • The package also includes €12,000 annual CPD funding, €8,000 innovation funding, generous annual and study leave, and a public pension scheme
