Respiratory Consultant Opportunity at MKUH
Are you a dynamic, dedicated, passionate, and forward-thinking Respiratory Consultant committed to delivering safe, effective, and high-quality care with a drive to work collaboratively contributing to Respiratory and GIM services at MKUH?
As a Respiratory Consultant, you will
- Work with the existing team to provide a 7-day service (including On Calls)
- Provide expert clinical care for inpatients and outpatients (diagnosis, treatment, and aftercare)
- Lead/develop specialist respiratory services
- Collaborate with a team of consultants, nurses, physiotherapists, and allied health professionals
- Contribute to teaching, training, and research initiatives within the department
- Be an independent practitioner for EBUS Diagnostic Procedures (it’d be desirable to also deliver Bronchoscopy and/or Thoracoscopy procedures)

The Post Holder Will
- Provide acute/elective care for Respiratory and General (Internal) Medicine patients, including an in-reach service, triage referrals, and respond to Advice & Guidance requests
- Participate in Ward/Board Rounds daily
- Improve the flow of patients at MKUH
- Support with service developments/improvements to allow the service to continue to meet the needs of the growing local population
- Support and ensure Governance within the service to ensure patient safety is maintained and incidents are raised early and investigated properly
- Build strong working relationships with fellow colleagues, operations managers, patient pathway coordinators, and other teams across the Trust
- Uphold the MKUH values; Care, Communicate, Collaborate, and Contribute
- Maintain a high standard of work and look to continuously improve their practice to ensure patient safety and experience
- Support the training, professional supervision, and management of trainee medical staff/students
