We are looking for a curious, commercially aware, and proactive individual to support our market intelligence and business development activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for either an experienced researcher or a graduate looking to develop a career in market intelligence, business development, and commercial strategy. Full training will be provided for the right candidate.

The role combines desk-based research, opportunity tracking, and business development support. You will help identify emerging market opportunities, monitor industry developments, research prospective clients, and support the development of marketing campaigns.

Working closely with our business development and leadership teams, you will play a key role in ensuring we remain informed about market trends, funding opportunities, industry events, and potential client activity across infrastructure, innovation, and technology-focused sectors.

This is a varied role suited to someone who enjoys investigating information, spotting opportunities, organising data, and communicating insights clearly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct desk-based research into target markets, sectors, organisations, and emerging trends.
  • Monitor industry news, policy announcements, funding programmes, and investment activity.
  • Identify market developments, business opportunities, and industry insights relevant to our clients and services.
  • Research organisations, stakeholders, and decision-makers within target sectors.
  • Produce concise briefing notes, market summaries, and competitor insights.
  • Support the identification and qualification of prospective clients and opportunities.
  • Maintain and develop opportunity and pipeline tracking systems.
  • Research framework agreements, procurement opportunities, and funding programmes.
  • Provide background research to support client meetings, proposals, and business development activities.
  • Research conferences, exhibitions, networking events, and speaking opportunities.
  • Help maintain a forward-looking calendar of sector events and engagement opportunities.
  • Organise and maintain market intelligence information and research databases.
  • Present findings clearly through reports, presentations, and briefing papers.
  • Assist senior colleagues in translating research findings into actionable business opportunities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
