Contract Type: Locum

Pay: £125 per hour

About The Role

We are seeking experienced Consultant Oncologists to provide locum cover within a busy NHS Oncology service in Northampton.

We welcome applications from Consultants with expertise in one or more of the following tumour sites:

  • Urology (Medical Oncology)
  • Lung (Medical Oncology)
  • Lymphoma (Clinical Oncology)
  • Cancer of Unknown Primary (CUP) – Medical Oncology

This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality cancer care while contributing your specialist expertise in a well-established oncology service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver specialist oncology clinics and patient consultations
  • Diagnose, assess and manage patients with complex oncological conditions
  • Develop and oversee personalised treatment plans
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
  • Provide systemic anti-cancer treatment (SACT) where appropriate
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation
  • Work collaboratively with the wider oncology and acute hospital teams
  • Deliver high standards of safe, patient-centred care

What We're Looking For

Essential

  • Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register in Medical or Clinical Oncology
  • Previous NHS Consultant Oncology experience
  • Expertise in one or more of the following:
    • Urology (Medical Oncology)
    • Lung (Medical Oncology)
    • Lymphoma (Clinical Oncology)
    • Cancer of Unknown Primary (Medical Oncology)
  • Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team working skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care

  • Experience participating in specialist MDTs
  • Teaching, audit or quality improvement experience
  • Availability for ongoing locum work
